Chester tips for Friday include Red Verdon odds and Cliffs Of Moher bets
Hurdle Bet experts give their Chester tips for Friday, the last day of the May Festival, and Red Verdon odds and Cliffs Of Moher bets are among those.
Red Verdon looks to have plenty going for him in the feature race on the final day of Chester’s May Festival, the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes (15:35).
The Ed Dunlop trained colt developed into a smart performer last season, winning two handicaps in impressive fashion.
He was then pitched into the deep end, running far better than his finishing position suggested when sixth of 16 to Harzand in The Derby over 1m 4f at Epsom when encountering all sorts of trouble in-running.
Red Verdon backed that up with a solid 4 1/4 lengths fourth to the same rival in the Irish equivalent at The Curragh, where he kept on strongly at the death and only narrowly failed to get up for third.
He went on to round off the campaign with a fine second in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris over 1m 4f at Saint-Cloud when again doing all his best work at the finish.
Judged on those efforts, the 1m 5f trip of this looks sure to suit.
Red Verdon also looks the type who may well have more to offer as a four-year-old.
The selection is also 1-1 at the venue and has the services of crack Irish jockey Pat Smullen in the saddle.

Cliffs Of Moher bets a cut-above in Dee Stakes
In the Listed 1m 2f Dee Stakes (14:25), Cliffs Of Moher looks a worthy red-hot favourite to land the spoils and confirm his status as a leading contender for The Derby.
The Aidan O’Brien trained colt left his debut effort well behind when running out an impressive winner of a 17-runner Leopardstown maiden back in October.
Cliffs Of Moher forged clear to beat stable companion Orderofthegarter by 5 1/2 lengths in the manner of a top-class prospect.
The form has also worked out well as the runner-up is unbeaten in two subsequent starts, including in Listed company.
Meanwhile, the third home Sharp Defence – who was beaten a total of 10 lengths – has also won since.
Cliffs Of Moher is currently a 9/1 ante post chance with Betway for The Derby in June on the back of that success.
He looks potentially a cut-above his rivals in this, though.
Consider Cliffs Of Moher bets to deliver in the Dee.
Kool a Canny bet
Canny Kool has some solid form to his name at the track, so looks decent value to get back to winning ways in the 5f Ldf Conditions Stakes (16:35).
The five-year-old has made the frame in two previous visits to the Roodee, finishing a fine three-quarters of a length runner-up to Eastern Impact and a decent third to Sir Maximilian at this meeting 12 months ago.
Canny Kool also has a good record fresh, having scored first time up in April 2015, and has bagged the plum draw in stall one.
That should enable him to get a good position early doors.
He also hails from the yard of the shrewd Brian Ellison, so is unlikely to be found wanting through lack of fitness following 332 days on the sidelines.
