Market Rasen tips for July 22 include John Constable odds and Days Of Heaven bets
Hurdle Bet experts give their Market Rasen tips for July 22 and among our Saturday shouts are John Constable odds and Days Of Heaven bets from the Lincolnshire venue.
John Constable absolutely bolted up when winning last time out, so looks worth a wager to follow-up in the Listed 2m 1/2f Summer Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen on Saturday (14:10).
The Evan Williams trained six-year-old could not have been more impressive when romping to a 14 lengths success in the Grade 3 Swinton Handicap Hurdle at Haydock when previously seen in action.
Making headway and going well two out, he was produced to lead by Davy Russell at the final flight and then took off up the straight.
This was an impressive display and, although the handicapper has put him up a whopping 16lb for his dominant victory, John Constable only shoulders 10lb more than his Haydock result.
A reproduction of his Swinton effort here should mean not even the extra weight can stop him.
Last year’s Summer Handicap Hurdle winner Red Tornado has finished well behind the selection and the re-opposing Rossetti in previous assignments, though is rated just 1lb higher (but racing off 3lb lighter) than 12 months ago.
I am unconvinced by Mad Jack Mytton, who seems to lack consistency.
Kapstadt, meanwhile, also looks a contender now switching back to National Hunt after three runs on the flat.
Joint bottom weight Star Foot may have an each-way shout, but John Constable odds are sided with here.
Days Of Heaven bets a shout in Summer Plate
Champion trainer Nicky Henderson sends Days Of Heaven in search of a four-timer over fences in the feature Listed extended 2m 5f Summer Plate Handicap Chase (15:20).
The seven-year-old is bang in-form for the Seven Barrows handler, having landed his hat-trick last time out at Uttoxeter.
Days Of Heaven proved trips around two-and-a-half miles were no problem after a commanding performance at Kempton over 2m.
Regular rider Nico de Boinville gave him a hands and heels ride when making all for an eight lengths success over Holly Bush Henry.
The selection then shouldered 12st 3lb when stepping up in trip with victory at Stratford.
Although the presence of Grade 2 winner Henryville ensures this will be a stern test, I am keen to oppose despite his Cheltenham winning form.
Poker School is also fancied in some quarters for the Summer Plate, but the Ian Williams trained entrant has not reproduced his strong winter form in subsequent outings this spring.
In a typically wide-open renewal, then, plump for Days Of Heaven bets.
Are They Your Own also worth wager
In the 2m 1/2f class 4 handicap chase that closes the card (17:05), Are They Your Own can build on some strong performances to land the spoils.
Trained by Fergal O’Brien, the nine-year-old returned to the National Hunt scene with a hugely impressive display at Cheltenham’s Hunter Chase evening in May.
Are They Your Own put in a very sound round of jumping over this trip, bolting up in a hunter chase by 26 lengths when sent off the 7/4 favourite.
He was then desperately unlucky to go down fighting by a neck to Get Rhythm when last in action at Ffos Las.
As he was gaining quickly close home in that 2m outing, the extra half-a-furlong in this definitely suits.
Again partnered by Ally Stirling, who takes 7lb off with her claim, Are They Your Own thus appeals here.
