Deauville Dancer can waltz to another success
Deauville Dancer can make light of a rise in the weights to land the hat-trick in the feature 2m handicap chase on today’s card at Perth (16.10).
The David Dennis trained gelding has looked a natural since going chasing, finishing a highly promising second on debut before registering two very easy successes.
In the last of those at Newton Abbot he travelled powerfully throughout and, after taking up the running four from home, drew effortlessly clear to win easing down by 12 lengths.
The handicapper has reacted by hitting Deauville Dancer with a further 12lb rise but given the manner of that victory it may not be enough to stop him going in again.
A revised rating of 127 should not be beyond the upwardly mobile Deauville Dancer and with Aidan Coleman in the saddle he is going to be tough to beat.
Spoils Of War worth a wager to follow-up
Spoils Of War scored in good style last time out and looks decent value to follow-up in the 3m handicap hurdle (14.40).
The eight-year-old, who is trained locally by Lucinda Russell, took advantage of a drop in the weights to open his account over course and distance back in May when staying on strongly to score by six lengths.
Spoils Of war seemed to relish the quicker ground and although now 6lb higher, a revised rating of 95 still looks workable given that he has been placed off 94 and rated as high as 107 in the past.
He also has the services in the saddle of the highly promising Blair Campbell who partnered him to success last time out and is terrific value for his 7lb claim.
Taking it into account Spoils Of War looks weighted to go in again.
Aminabad weighted to strike
Aminabad caught the eye last time out and can cash-in on his falling mark to land the 2m 4f handicap chase (15.10).
The seven-year-old has some useful form to his name earlier in his career when trained by Willie Mullins and came good at the second time of asking for Patrick Griffin when making all to beat the now 149-rated Two Taffs by 4 1/2 lengths in a novice chase at Catterick back in January.
Aminabad was allotted a handicap mark of 127 after that success and has largely struggled since.
However, that has resulted in the assessor cutting him plenty of slack and he is now able to race off a reduced rating of 117.
That gives him major claims from a handicapping perspective on the pick of his form and Aminabad hinted he could be ready to go in again when staying on to finish fourth at Aintree three weeks ago, having been poorly positioned and given too much to do.
