    Horse racing at Ascot

There’s been horse racing at Ascot since the days of Queen Anne in the early 18th century, and the Berkshire course is home to both top class National Hunt and Flat competition, most notably Royal Ascot every June. Those five days of action see eight Group 1 races. Ascot overall is home to 13 of the 32 highest calibre contests on the Flat in British horse racing, including four on British Champions Day in October.

As for National Hunt over the jumps, January sees the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase take centre stage, and that is a key trial for the Queen Mother Champion Chase, the centrepiece of day two of the Cheltenham Festival. Among the supporting Ascot card in January is the Grade 2 Warfield Mares’ Hurdle (3m), won by Vroum Vroum Mag in 2016 before the Willie Mullins mare went on to win at Cheltenham. The February fixture at Ascot is highlighted by the Grade 2 Reynoldstown Novices’ Chase – a key trial for the Cheltenham Festival’s RSA Chase. There’s also the eponymous Ascot Chase, another Grade 1 over an extended 2m 5f and a race recently won by great horses such as Kauto Star and Cue Card.

Awesome Ascot betting tips on offer at Hurdle Bet

Flat racing dominates the summer months at Ascot, but autumn brings about a new National Hunt campaign, and that is when Hurdle Bet gets into full swing. Ascot betting tips return on jumps racing with the Sodexo Gold Cup, an early season Grade 3. In November, the Coral sponsored Ascot Hurdle sends horses just short of two-and-a-half miles in Grade 2 action. Stella Artois sponsor the 1965 Chase, another Grade 2 affair that the ill-fated Vautour captured in 2015 for Mullins. A delightful December meeting just before Christmas completes the calendar year at Ascot, with valuable prizes on offer across two days. The action culminates in the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle, a 3m contest for staying hurdlers so impressively landed in the last two years by 2017 Thistlecrack and Unowhatimeanharry. Don’t miss out on top Ascot betting tips on these and many more races at Hurdle Bet.
